What Are You Waiting For?

Have you ever been disappointed in yourself because you failed to accomplish a goal you set for yourself? (I have!)

Have you ever given up on yourself because you convinced yourself it was too hard to continue or too time-consuming? (I have!)

You are not alone.

Robert Herjavec famously said, “a goal without a deadline is just a dream”.

To combat this, I’ve put together a short actionable guide below to help you with how you look at your goals:

Often we put off the most important things for another day and focus on the urgent and generally unimportant matters first. But Does that really matter to your future growth?

Of course it does! One day turns into 3 days which turns into months later and perhaps, never.

The reality is that you end up carrying a heavy bag with you of unfinished, important actions, which will always be at the back of your mind.

Would you like to free yourself from this burden? How about trying one of the following actions right now …

Firstly, choose something that you have carried with you and wanted to complete but havn’t yet got around to completing it.

Okay, now try one of the following:

1. Simply let it go. Choose to accept that you don’t want to do this and won’t be able too because of other commitments or goals.

2. If option 1 doesn’t appeal to you, if you don’t want to let it go, start by listening to the objections in your head, what is your inner voice saying to you that is making you cautious? Start tackling these hurdles one by one.

3. Try a different route: Break the “task” into bite-size chunks – make sure in each step you list what can be done in less than a day. Now take the first item on the list and just do it today.

By following through with one of these actionable steps, you will finally be able to let it go and move on, or slowly start to pursue your goal, day by day. The outcome being you will feel at peace with the decision you’ve made.
